NIGERIA // On January 21st, around midnight, approximately 57NM SSE of Lagos (Nigeria) a tanker reported being approached and subsequently attacked while underway. The incident follows the event occurred on January 19th against a container vessel who was attack while drifting 72NM South of Cotonou (Benin).
Available elements indicate that the PAG who performed the two operations is the same. In addition, prevailing currents indicate that the PAG had been drifting East for the last 48hrs likely while returning towards their shore base in Nigeria. Other approaches in the general area are still possible in the following days.
