BENIN // BOB BARKER approached 116NM South of Cotonou – 09/11/2020

EVENT DESCRIPTION // On November 9^th, around 0630 UTC, approximately 116NM South of Cotonou, the Fishery Patrol Vessel BOB BARKER (IMO: 5280540) reported being approached by a skiff carrying 7/8 men onboard. The men approached the vessel up to 0.7NM prompting the intervention of the Beninese Navy guards who fired warning shots. The crew safely retreated into the citadel and after 10 minutes the assailants eventually left the area.

The vessel is operated by Sea Shepherd Global (Netherlands).
