NIGERIA // VERRAZANE piracy approach 203NM South of Lagos – 05/12/2020

EVENT DESCRIPTION // On December 5^th, around 0620 UTC, approximately 203NM South of Lagos the French-flagged LPG tanker VERRAZANE (IMO: 9649146) reported being approached by a single speedboat. The security vessel assigned to the tanker moved into position forcing away the speedboat.

Shortly after another nearby tanker was approached and boarded, most likely by same PAG (see NEW RANGER incident).

The VERRAZANE is managed by Geogas, Switzerland.
